Ibrahim Nash’at is a driving creative force at Rolling Narratives, bringing fresh and thought-provoking perspectives to the world of documentary filmmaking. With a background in journalism and a Master’s degree in documentary filmmaking from Met Film School, he has refined his craft through collaborations with international media outlets such as Deutsche Welle, Al Jazeera, Business Insider, AJ+, and Voice of America. Nash’at co-edited Under the Sky of Damascus, the latest film by Academy Award-nominated director Talal Derki, which premiered at Panorama – BERLINALE 2023. As a filmmaker, he is deeply committed to telling stories that transcend borders and promote diversity. His passion for storytelling is evident in every project he edits, produces, or directs. Talal Derki is an acclaimed director, producer, and writer. Born in Damascus to Kurdish descent, he studied film directing in Athens at the Stavrako High Institute of Cinematographic Art and Television, graduating in 2003. He began his career as an assistant director for feature films before making his first feature documentary, Return to Homs (2013), which won the Grand Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival. Following this success, he directed Of Fathers and Sons, which won the same award at Sundance and earned an Oscar nomination in 2019. With this film, he also received four of Germany's most prestigious film awards in 2018 and 2019: the SWR Documentary Film Prize, the Munich Documentary Award, the Peace Bridge Award, and the Lola for Best Documentary. In 2023, the two latest films he produced premiered at major international festivals—Under the Sky of Damascus at Berlinale and Hollywoodgate at the Venice Film Festival—both earning multiple awards at global film festivals. Derki has been a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (Oscars) since 2019. He is currently developing several feature documentaries as a director and producer. Abdullah Mostafa is an Egyptian documentary filmmaker and producer based in Berlin. With a passion for storytelling and a keen eye for human emotion, he has spent over 15 years crafting narratives that resonate with audiences worldwide. His work has been featured on platforms such as Al Jazeera Documentary, AJ+, Deutsche Welle, Voice of America, Netflix, ENTR, and the United Nations. Abdullah believes in the power of documentaries to shed light on untold stories and challenge perspectives. He was involved in Hollywoodgate (2023), which premiered at the Venice and Telluride Film Festivals and was shortlisted for the 2025 Oscars®. He also produced The Children Behind Zalaga (2023), which premiered at the Film Festival della Lessinia in Italy and won the FUTURE Award. In addition, Abdullah directed and produced Double Vision (2016). He is currently directing his first feature documentary, Song of the South, continuing his journey of bringing meaningful stories to life. Close
